A half-day workshop on “Climate Change and Health" was held in Dhaka
on 28 August, at Spectra Convention Centre. The workshop was organized
by Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), under Capacity
Strenghening of LDCs on Adaptaion to Climate Change (CLACC) project and
funded by DFID, UK.
The purpose of the workshop was to share findings of the three case
studies among the health professional and policy makers of government,
non-government, and international agencies and increase awareness. These
case studies were on a) Malaria and Climate in the Chittagong Hill
Tracts (CHT), b) Dengue and Climate in Dhaka , and c) Salinity and
Health in Satkhira.
