The African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) is a policy research institution. The centre's research and capacity development activities seek to provide new sustainable interventions for policy communities in Africa and the rest of the world. ACTS' research and training activities are conducted in an interactive and consultative manner. The center believes that policies must be implemented and designed in direct association with the stakeholder communities -- governments, communities, and corporations -- whose skills and experience are a highly valuable and necessary resource for
successful policy reform. ACTS' research and training activities have had
noted success in providing policy options that have led to national legislation and administrative reforms.

The SECS's main goal is the conservation of the environment and sustainable development through community participation and environmental literacy.
SECS aims to emphasize the strong linkage between environmental well-being and the welfare of the people. It believes that peoples' participation and involvement are the key principles to meet this end. SECS target groups are the public at large with emphasis on local communities and intermediate groups or multipliers, decision makers, teachers, law people, women, farmers, pastoralists and local leaders. SECS membership is composed of men, women, professionals, teachers, students and ordinary citizens. This membership represents SECS membership in 104 branches all over Sudan.

EPMS was established in 1997 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as a professional environmental firm dedicated to work with both at national and international level on issues related to environment and sustainable development. The key areas of expertise include climate change, EIA as well as activities related to the implementation of the three post Rio Conventions (CBD, UNFCCC and UNCCD). EPMS also does research, environmental impact assessments, development projects and analysis of policy related works in collaboration with academic and research institutions, government departments as well as NGOs and CBOs. We provide technical and professional services to the private sector in fostering better understanding of the link between trade and environment and the implications of globalisation in this context. In so doing EPMS also creates a better understanding of available opportunities in the implementation of the various Conventions such the UNFCCC in terms of adaptation and its Kyoto protocol in terms of carbon trading and other opportunities within the UN and other intergovernmental processes globally.

DENIVA is a registered, indigenous, non-profit making network of Ugandan non-governmental and community based organizations (NGOs/CBOs). With about 700 member organizations, DENIVA is recognized as a strong network by various stakeholders and backed by a long experience of networking, information sharing, mobilization of skills and knowledge. DENIVA focuses on agriculture and trade, hunger and food security, citizen participation in local governance, and NGO operating environment.
